This track in 13/8 (2+2+2+3+4) features the sound of the Cylisax along with sounds of the Beluga and Humpback Whales. The Whale samples are played melodically by 'Lyrebird' (my digital wind instrument - a Yamaha built WX5). There are no other instruments played on this track.

The Cylisax is a new design of mine which has a cylindrical bore and a branch tube just below the mouthpiece making the bore open at both ends. Because of this branch tube, it overblows the octave like a saxophone, rather than an octave and a fifth like the clarinet. It behaves like a conical bore single reed instrument and sounds like a mellow soprano sax rather than a clarinet. It was initially inspired by the development of Yamaha's branch tube wind instrument, the Venova.

This piece is dedicated to my long time wonderful friend and colleague Philip Griffin.
