Track 18 - 18th of April (Cylisax)
This track features the Cylisax which is a relatively new instrument design of mine. It sounds like a mellow soprano sax but has a cylindrical bore with a branch tube that changes the physics of the sound waves it generates (it was inspired by Yamaha’s ‘Venova’. This one is a Mk9 model and I’ve turned it from the Australian timber Budgeroo (Lysicarpus angustifolius). I've multitracked 3 Cylisax lines playing in 11/8 (2+2+3+2+2).
